Scalefocus at HLTH 2022: A Look into the Latest HealthTech Trends
HLTH recently wrapped up in Las Vegas, and the gathering of HIT platforms and innovators showcased what is next to come in the Healthcare Technology space. One of the preeminent events in the healthcare industry convened the entire healthcare ecosystem, connecting and developing relationships that truly move the needle and united all participants within one holistic environment.
Over 300 speakers and almost 10 thousand attendees are among the many reasons the event will go down in history as a resounding success. Of course, team Scalefocus was more than happy to participate, share our HealthTech expertise, and make sure we are up to date with the latest industry trends. A key mantra was “video does not replace care”, meaning that telehealth platforms need to evolve beyond being glorified FaceTime apps and into actual, patient-centered care portals. It is no longer just about the tech but how you are translating it into features that benefit the patients.
As always, interoperability across applications was key. With thousands of different products in the works, making sure that your product (or hospital) is able to easily integrate the best of these through a strong API layer was the main focus. Healthcare (like most established industries) is plagued by bad legacy systems that hamper innovation. Finding ways to revamp or replace these systems with something more engaging is always a challenge.
Finally, while the IoT/wearables revolution of the 2010s is certainly waning, we did see some innovation in that space as well. From devices combining wearables with AI to quiet crying babies to “treatment wearables” for Physical and Occupational Therapy, there are still some new IoT products that go beyond the normal “oh, that’s cool” and into “oh, that’s useful”.
