Operational Recovery Orchestration for Forward Logistics Hub

The Client

A forward logistics hub responsible for theater-level Combat Service Support operations across a distributed network of command nodes, with complex dependencies across vehicle fleets, personnel management, and supply chain tracking.

The Challenge

Simultaneous platform unserviceability, convoy disruption, and personnel shortfall cascaded across the client’s distributed CSS network. Recovery coordination required 4 to 6 hours across 15 or more command nodes per incident. No pre-defined battle drill or CONOPS automation existed, leaving each operational degradation managed reactively from scratch and under time pressure.

The Solution

Scalefocus deployed an agentic orchestration layer that ingests real-time signals from vehicle telematics, personnel management systems, and supply chain tracking. Pre-defined battle drill workflows now activate autonomously to reallocate loads, re-task personnel, and notify all affected command nodes simultaneously. Pattern recognition surfaces indicators and warnings before degradations propagate. Commander authorization is still required for consequential decisions, though.

The Results & Business Impact

Replacing reactive, manual recovery coordination with autonomous orchestration collapsed MTTR from hours to minutes. With 91% of incidents resolved autonomously, commanders and staff were freed from routine coordination, allowing them to focus on decisions that do require human judgment. CSS throughput improved across the theater network as recovery speed and consistency increased, and manual coordination calls for autonomous recovery incidents were eliminated entirely.
