Business Analysis in SOA Integration Projects

IIBA Bulgaria held a traditional IT seminar with the support of several software companies, ScaleFocus being one of the main contributors. The focus of the event was on the business analysis practices in IT companies’ projects. The essentials discussed covered the growing importance of business analysis and its applicability in the IT sector.

ScaleFocus’ CTO Viktor Bilyanski shared his experience in business analysis in Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) and integration projects, his vision and successful practices. He emphasized on the important mission a business analyst has: “Business analyst is a Role, it is not a Position!”

Viktor also underlined the main goals ahead of the business analysis in SOA – the importance to understand the business in order to facilitate every project’s delivery on-time and on-budget, to reduce waste and to improve efficiency. “Creating a service is an investment, which has to pay back” – he reminded, “not everything makes sense to be created as a service. At ScaleFocus we do explain technical impact to business people and business impact to technical people!”
