On Sunday 10th of June ScaleFocus CEO Plamen Tsekov, CTO Viktor Bilyanski and Business Development Manager Metodi Amov attended the pre-welcoming event of the newly established IT High School in Burgas. The event was held in Hall 2 of Expo Center “Flora Burgas”.

During the meeting, parents and students met with the director of the High school Dimitrina Todorova and with the members of the school board, among which are the Burgas universities “Prof. Asen Zlatarov and Free University, as well as the executives of some of the biggest IT companies in the country.

As previously shared, we are a proud supported of the whole initiative by being part of school’s council and helping in the making of the curriculum plan. In this manner, we continue our work toward the support of the local IT ecosystem.

The director of the new high school, Dimitrina Todorova followed by Ognyan Trayanov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Association for Information Technologies (BAIT), opened the discussion:

“Two-thirds of children entering the education system will work on professions that do not exist today. This digital transformation shows that whatever the profession of the future is, it will be related to the use of IT. That is why we support high school and we guarantee that the content will be up-to-date and adequate to the business, we will help with guest speakers and specific tasks”

The CEO and co-founder of ScaleFocus Plamen Tsekov added: “With this profession you become a citizen of the world. Bulgaria is currently shaping up as one of the strong IT centers in Europe. This is also the way to stay permanently in Burgas and in the same time to work exclusively on international projects. The competition will be cruel in the future, so children need to be prepared for it. The opening of the programming school shows that Burgas was elected a technological city in 2018 for a reason.”

“This is a project that is related to the future. We also thank the America for Bulgaria Foundation, whose representatives are here and who help us with the repair and furnishing of the IT training company, “added Yordanka Ananieva, Deputy Mayor of Burgas Municipality.

Among the topics discussed during the meeting were the opportunities for sports, student transport, canteen, dwelling conditions, material facilities, learning process and self-training of students.
